Anu Kumar

Dr. Anu Kumar is President and CEO of Ipas, an international NGO that works around the world to advance reproductive justice by expanding access to abortion and contraception. Dr. Kumar is internationally recognized as an advocate for women’s rights and a thought leader in global health. Prior to joining Ipas, she worked at the World Health Organization’s Reproductive Health Research Division in Geneva and spent seven years at the Macarthur Foundation in their Population and Reproductive Health Program. She is widely published in peer-reviewed journals and popular media on topics such as abortion stigma, reproductive freedom, and power and equity in global health. Dr. Kumar has a master’s degree and a PhD in anthropology, and a master’s degree in public health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
