Grantmakers Concerned with Immigrants and Refugees (GCIR) has a two-part series exploring the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI), technology, and immigrant justice, highlighting the risk of BIPOC and immigrant communities face from biases embedded in automated surveillance and judicial tools. Part one will focus on will focus on immigrant and civil liberties groups at the forefront of the movement to mitigate technologically-driven harms to historically targeted communities. In part 2, funders will learn from talented innovators about the tools they have built and how philanthropic investments can catalyze this burgeoning field.
